CSI was founded by David G. Wachtel and Craig Pitches in 1987. Mr. Wachtel's specialty is object oriented programming with an emphasis on Smalltalk. Mr. Pitches background is primarily computer design, machine control hardware, embedded control systems but more recently he has turned his attention more toward software and high speed message servers.

Currently Mr. Wachtel is fully active in the company while Mr. Pitches serves primarily an advisory and executive role while pursuing other interests.
