Hammer Type Saw Sets

Hammer type saw sets use a hammer or spring loaded plunger against an anvil to bend the saw tooth. Herrick Aiken patented the most common of these designs in 1830. This design survived for 100+ years and may be still made somewhere. Some were driven into stumps for use in the woods and others were screwed to the bench for workshop use.
